Puvaneswary a/p Doriasamy
Head of Primary
Ms Puvanes is a dedicated, committed and highly resourceful professional educator with 29 years of experience in various levels of education and management. She graduated from the Stranmillis University College, Belfast, Northern Ireland with a Certificate in Learning and Teaching; from University of Cambridge with a Professional Diploma for Teachers and Trainers and from University Malaya with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Life Philosophy: If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride and never quit, you’ll be a winner.

Rajan a/l Supramaniam
Head of Secondary
Mr Rajan is a fabulous maths teacher who has 10 years of teaching experience in secondary-level Mathematics and Additional Mathematics for British curriculum-based international schools. He graduated from University Malaysia Sabah with BSc in Mathematics with a minor in Economics; and from University of Malaya with MEd in Educational Management. He believes in the philosophy that “No child anywhere is weak.
Only the ideal learning approach has yet to be identified”. Holding on to this belief, he dedicates his time to place his utmost effort to help all his students to quench their curiosities, live up to their fullest potential and make a real difference in their lives.

Abigail Lucas a/p Jerome Lucas
Rooting her life’s principles on the notion of individuality, Ms Abigail views her primary role in a student’s life as helping them step outside of the mould and tapping into their unique interests. She obtained her B.A in Literature in English and minor in Theatrical Performances followed by an M.A in Postcolonial Literature studies from the reputable National University of Malaysia (UKM). She teaches First Language English (FLE) and English as a Second Language (ESL). Having had five years of experience teaching the subject, she aspires to inspire young scholarly minds to become individuals that not only excel in their academics but possess magnanimous hearts that would help make the world an accepting, compassionate place to live in.

Aishah binti Mohd Anwar Muraji
Ms Aishah obtained her BSc. Chemistry (Hons) from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. Since 2015, she was involved in teaching Cambridge Curriculum (Chemistry and English) in international schools. She is able to connect with her students and has a talent for teaching simple to difficult concepts in Science, English and Chemistry subjects. She truly believes that education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.

Alicia Lucas a/p Jerome Lucas
Building her teaching foundation on the importance of being resilient and unconventional, Ms Alicia Lucas has been teaching IGCSE English as a Second Language (ESL) subject for the past five years. She graduated from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) with a BA (Literature in English) and minor in Theatrical Performances and MA (Postcolonial Literature Studies in English). She believes that all students are blessed with different learning abilities and talents; therefore it is the duty of the teacher to shape and mould students into the unique individuals they have the potential to become.

Cathrine Kushalini a/p Vijayakumar
Ms. Cathrine graduated from Brigham Young University of Hawaii, USA with a Bachelor Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, minor in Education and Psychology. She has taught in Laie, Hawaii at a public elementary school for three years. She worked as an English instructor at the Brigham Young University of Hawaii. She believes teaching is a scaffolding process which creates a positive learning environment and allows students to be independent learners. With her teaching experience, she believes in personalizing students' learning and supporting every learner in meeting rigorous learning goals.

Chin Choon Pei (Leeann)
Having completed her BSc (Hons) in Biotechnology from USM, Ms. Leeann Chin taught the IB program in an international school for six years (primary). Being professionally trained in CIE Diploma in Teaching & Learning, she worked as a qualified educator and programme coordinator. She is currently pursuing her MEd degree. To her, education is nurturing the mind and the spirit. Ms. Leeann strongly believes that children are like flowers; they bloom at different times and in different ways. She is keen to inspire the young generation through building sound character and soft skills. One of her favourite quotations is “Every child deserves a champion - an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insist that they become the best that they can possibly be.” ~ Rita F. Chin Why Honn (Aaron)
"Where words fail, music speaks." Graduated with a Bachelor of Classical Music (Hons.), majoring in saxophone performance and music research. Mr Aaron is a passionate and caring teacher in helping students to grow through music. He has been teaching for more than 5 years in both individual and group classes. His past experiences include performing with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), Philharmonic Winds of Malaysia, and The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) Symphonic Band. Since 2017, he has been leading Perak's very own community band, Kinta Valley Wind Orchestra.

Cynthia a/p Tamil Selvan
Ms Cynthia graduated with a BA (Hon) in TESL. She worked in an International school in Simpang Ampat, Penang for two years which helped her to develop her critical thinking, creative and interpersonal skills. She is a dedicated professional who is highly motivated, enjoys supporting children and helping them to reach their potential. In order to understand her students better, she believes in putting herself in their shoes in order to be able to respond better to their needs. She loves trying new things as well as reading novels, singing and travelling.

David Seow Jae Szen
Mr David Seow graduated with BA (Media & Communications) and MA (Film, Media & Library) from Liverpool Hope University, England with the intention of becoming a journalist before deciding to pursue a career in education. He worked as a teaching assistant while completing his Masters and was sent to a wide range of schools across the city of Liverpool in the UK through the agency Randstad Education. Upon returning to Malaysia, he worked at Ipoh School of Music for six months before spending another six months as a volunteer teacher in Indonesia. He has a keen interest in art and enjoys travelling.

Devamalar a/p Paramaguru
Mrs Logen completed her tertiary education at the University of Science Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Hons) in 1987. Subsequently, she obtained her Cambridge International Diploma for Teacher's certificate from Cambridge International Examinations Board in 2009. Her passion and love for teaching and children inspired her and helped her garner 24 years of teaching experience. Over the years, she has been teaching in various international schools. Being the devoted Mathematics and Additional Mathematics teacher she is, she played a pivotal role en route to achieving the 'Top in The World' award in 2010, 2011 and 2019. Besides, her role as the Head of Mathematics required her to lead her teaching team as well as devising the best practice for effective teaching and learning process. Mrs Logen believes in three fundamental criteria for one to excel - to learn smart, work hard, and have the right attitude. She is a firm believer in the quote: "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” (Lao Tzu). She then moved on to a home school before joining SBIS.

Goh Chun Sum (Gerard)
Mr. Gerard graduated from UM with a BA in Performing Arts (Music). Prior to joining this school, he has taught in international schools for over five years. He has acquired the Cambridge International Certificate in Teaching and Learning (CICTL). He is passionate about developing interest in and appreciation of music among students. During his free time, Mr. Gerard enjoys reading, catching up with the latest movies and going to the gym.

Hamida Benadda
Ms Hamida Benadda graduated from Oran University, Algeria with a Bachelor Degree in English language in 2008. In 2013, she acquired from Bir El Khadim College a certificate in special education. She has been teaching Early Years Foundation Stage, and lower primary level in international schools since 2014, and in a special educational needs school.
She is a patient teacher who loves children and is specially skilled in retaining the attention span of multiple young children during lessons. In her teaching, she ensures each child is actively learning as she believes children doing things and thinking about the things they are doing will enjoy a holistic education

Ho Ming Foong (Stanley)
Mr. Stanley joined SBIS as a Physical Education teacher. He graduated with BA in Social Science (Hons) with a major in Psychology from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. Being an active sport-person himself, he has experience in coaching students from primary to secondary level. He also loves volunteering in a local community sports program in Ipoh.
He believes sport is one of the great ways to impact one’s life, improve communication skills, to build confidence and discipline. Mr. Stanley thoroughly enjoys working with children and encourages creative expression. With a background in Psychology studies, he is an educator with an innate ability to understand and motivate students. He aims not only to bring joy and fun to students, but to cultivate values and sportsmanship through sports.

Jason Rozario a/l James
Mr Jason Rozario began his career as a Quality Engineer in 1996 after graduating from Universiti Putra Malaysia with Bachelor of Science (Honours) majoring in Physics. He was offered a job in Metal industry where he analyses metal defect using X ray diffraction technique. He was in the manufacturing industry for 9 years. Mr Jason believes in the philosophy of lifelong learning and obtained his MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia. While in the manufacturing industries, he conducted various training for the employees and began to feel that teaching is his calling.
Mr Jason then decided to try his hand at teaching and has never looked back. He has 17 years of teaching Physics and mathematics in various colleges. He taught IGCSE Physics, Mathematics and Economics and A Level Physics and Mathematics in International schools. He brings his industrial knowledge to his classes. He believes his classes are a medium through which his students will learn logical and analytical skills that are critical for their success in college and future careers. Mr Jason loves to travel and has travelled with his wife to 11 countries. He looks forward to travelling to more countries in the near future.

Jennifer Fangon Nicolas
Jennifer Fangon Nicolas, is a Licensed and Registered Counsellor under Lembaga Kaunseling Malaysia(LKM) and is also a full member of Malaysian Association of Social Welfare (MASW). She completed her first degree, Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology at Arellano University, Manila, Philippines and a Master’s Degree with Honours in Counselling at Open University Malaysia. She has been working as a Counsellor in different levels of educational Institutions since 2009, from primary, secondary, College and University. She always believes that everyone is special in their own way. She values respect, honesty and love. These are the traits that she hopes to cultivate in the heart of every student because good character is the best product of good education.
As a Counsellor, her passion is to assist and help clients to rediscover themselves better in reaching their optimal level of psychosocial functioning through resolving negative patterns, prevention, rehabilitation, empowering them with the ability to make the best choice available in every situation, and eventually improving quality of life.

Krishna Kumari a/p Ragu
Ms.Krishna Kumari a/p Ragu is a passionate preschool teacher with fourteen years’ experience. She graduated from OUM with BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Education. She believes children are the future of our society. She wants to create a classroom that fosters development where children can explore and initiate their own learning. She enjoys travelling to experience the unfamiliar and coming back with new knowledge and skills to implement in the classroom.

Lee Yan En
Ms Lee Yan En obtained her BEd. (Hons) majoring in Science and a minor in Biology from the Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI). She taught in an international school for a few years before joining SBIS. Her teaching motto is to inspire and to be inspired. She is a passionate teacher, believing that imparting values in young minds are as important as guiding her learners to excel academically.

Lee Yau Loon (Keith)
Having gained his degree in Civil Engineering at University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Keith decided to utilise his skills and qualifications to teach in international schools. He has also completed an online introductory course on Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) conducted by Cambridge Assessment International Education and has more than 5 years teaching experience. Keith has always enjoyed teaching using an inquiry approach and promotes a wider and richer view of Science amongst students through the organisation of science-based enticement activities using recycled materials. He strives to create a classroom environment where students feel understood and motivated

Lim Bee Yan (Esther)
Ms Esther Lim graduated with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education while working as a preschool teacher for 3 years. Prior to that, she had been teaching students taking the UPSR for 4 years in an education center. She is currently pursuing her Degree in TESL at Open University Malaysia.
She is a teacher who enjoys learning while playing because she believes children who enjoy the class learn best. In her class, she often uses music and dance to communicate with children. She believes teaching is not a job but an act of discovery with children themselves. “Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.” – Fred Rogers

Lim Zhi Yi (Janice)
Ms Janice Lim graduated from the University Malaysia Sarawak with a Bachelor degree in Social Science (Communication Studies). She is currently pursuing her Master Degree in Education (Mandarin Studies) at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris. She has been teaching in private and international schools prior to teaching in SBIS. She enjoys sharing her knowledge through teaching Mandarin as she has a strong passion in Chinese language and cultures. As the Chinese saying goes "授人以鱼,不如授人以渔", which means give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. She believes that educators are important as they nurture students’ growth and guide their insights, which will in turn help the students to unleash their own potential.

Lim Wye May
Ms May Lim has been teaching for over 25 years after earning her BA majoring in Biology and a minor in Mathematics, and an MA in Education – both from the USA. She strongly believes that while a teacher has responsibility for imparting some of life’s most important lessons, a great teacher is one who loves kids and enjoys working with young adults who are trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives.
As she lives for the “ah ha” moments that students experience in class, she aims to create an atmosphere that encourages deep learning. In order to cultivate an appreciation of the need for global literacy to meet the pressing challenges facing our planet, current world events are integrated into her lessons. She is an avid reader (mystery, detective, dystopia) and an experienced DIY person. She believes there are miracles, healing, laughter, sharing and love every day and everywhere.

Mohd Ikramuddin bin Mat Rani
Mr Ikram is a Malay language teacher and has been teaching IGCSE Malay for 4 years. Mr Ikram graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with BSc in Biotechnology. Mr Ikram taught at tertiary institutions before joining an international school to teach Malay. He believes that knowledge must be shared so the best way to achieve it is to teach.

Navinaswary a/p Balakrishnan
Ms.Navinaswary is our Assistant Teacher who obtained her Diploma in Laboratory Technology from Sultan Idris Education University(UPSI). She has experience being with students for the past 3 years. Her love for children draws her to become an Assistant Teacher. She strongly believes that creating a friendly and nurturing environment will motivate the students and help them excel in their studies besides making them confident and develop into self-sufficient learners.

Nicole Loke Ke Ying
Miss Nicole is a loving and patient early childhood educator. She has been teaching young children between the ages of 2 to 6 years old throughout her career. Miss Nicole obtained her Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) and Bachelor (hons.) of Early Childhood Education from the reputable HELP University. She loves storytelling and believes that individuals can learn through play. Having had eleven years of experience in the early childhood field, she strives to equip every child to be individuals who bring sunshine to others and themselves too. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Education ( Education Psychology).

Noor Ainn binti Zakaria
Ms Noor Ainn joins SBIS as an Art Teacher after having taught for six years in two private schools. She graduated with a BA majoring in Arts and a minor in Psychology from the Universiti Sains Malaysia. She loves art and has actively participated in netball as a coach. Through her lessons, she aspires to bring out the “inner artists” in students to help build skills and self-confidence. Her philosophy is that every child is waiting to find something that they are good at and she wants to be there to help them identify what that is, be it drawing, painting, sculpting or making crafts.

Nor Ajmila binti Ali Nafiah
Having completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Multimedia from Multimedia University Cyberjaya and Master’s in Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia, Ms Ajmila started her career in the education industry since 2009. She has three years teaching experience in International Schools as an ICT Teacher before joining us.
Her prior employment in the creative industry and in private colleges has established good exposure, and she is happy to share knowledge and skills. She provides engaging and inclusive lessons as she is particularly keen to help students develop their critical thinking skills.
She strongly believes that “Technology is just a tool. In terms of getting kids working together and motivating them, the Teacher is the most important.” ~Bill Gates

Nor Hasyah binti Ali Wan Hasan
Ms Hasyah is a graduate of Universiti Utara Malaysia in the field of Business Management. Since joining the education sector in private institutions, she has been teaching Malay language (SPM/IGCSE) for 12 years. She is a loving, patient and dedicated teacher who believes that every student has the potential to be successful and will be able to master the Malay language.

Nurul Effrinah Kernain binti Mahadi Kernain
Ms. Effrinah graduated from University of Science Malaysia (USM) with a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature Studies, minor in Psychology. She has been teaching English and Malay Language for 5 years in secondary school of both National Curriculum (SPM) and IGCSE syllabus. Prior to that, she worked as a part-time English Lecturer at University of Technology Mara (UiTM) Penang. She believes that every child has their own uniqueness, ability and area of expertise.

Nurul Farihin binti Abdul Rahim
Ms Nurul graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) with a Bachelor of Sports Science (Hons). She also obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from UNITAR. She has been teaching Physical Education at an international school for 8 years for Primary and Secondary students. She believes that sports develop students’ social skills and encourage them to be active throughout the school day.

Nushantini a/p Govindaraju
Ms Nushantini Govindaraju has a Bachelor’s of Early Childhood Education and is pursuing her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. She has attended current constructive hands-on approach in managing an effective classroom course such as Permata International Conferences, National Conferences Autism & Inclusion Supporting Families Engaging Professional and Special Education Network in Malaysia- 4th Annual Conference

Pravina a/p Selvanathan
Ms Pravina graduated from the Management & Science University (MSU) with BSc in Biomedical Science (Hons). She is a self-directed, action-oriented professional with seven years of teaching both IB and Cambridge curricular in international schools. Ms Pravina is a warm and caring teacher who wants all children to be successful learners. She believes in creating an inclusive, supportive and stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning. Being committed to professional ethics and pedagogy, she is now pursuing her Master in Education. She strongly agrees that “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself’ (John Dewey).

Rabinder Kaur a/p Phajan Singh
Ms Rabinder Kaur graduated from the University of Roehampton, UK with BA (Hons) in Education. She has been teaching both IB and the Cambridge curriculums in international schools. She specializes in utilizing learning resources to foster a positive and productive learning environment, using her vast experience and strong track record in fostering child-centred curriculum and student creativity. She provides comprehensive supervision and holistic support to students to meet individual needs. With over eight years of teaching primary level education, Ms Rabinder's educational philosophy lies in creating active learning environment for her students - allowing them a full range of developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory experiences structured to challenge each individual student cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically.

Raj Dronamraju
Mr. Raj Dronamraju is an American citizen and a published poet and author. Mr. Dronamraju, who is a Malaysian Permanent Resident, has been teaching for 20 years and has lectured at several Malaysian universities including Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Quest International University as well as taught at international high schools including Tenby International School and taught IELTS at an international language center. Most recently, he founded Ask English Tuition and Training specializing in IELTS, IGCSE, A Levels, MUET, public speaking, and creative writing classes. He has written six books (three poetry collections and three novels), all of which are available for sale on Amazon, and is the editor of the online poetry magazine 21st Century Flow. He has spoken at poetry events on three different continents. He holds a Master's Degree in TESOL (Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of California USA and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English (Journalism) from the University of Oregon USA.

Ruviniyia a/p Kalaiselvam
Ms Ruviniya has completed her MScpl in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering from UPM and BSc Biology (hons) from UKM. She has been in the field of education for the past 5 years and has taught IGCSE Biology and Cambridge International Science for both the primary and secondary level previously. Research involving experiments has always been her passion and strength in the field of science.

Siti Nur Balqis binti Abdul Halim
Ms Siti is an art teacher and still pursuing her Masters in History and Theory of Arts at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She obtained her first degree, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Fine Arts at the same university in 2012. She used to work as a curator/artist/assistant gallery manager/art tutor/art researcher and now has joined us to teach art because of her passion for art. She strongly believes that she has the qualities needed to be a good teacher – patience, dedication, and a genuine love for teaching. She has always dreamed of sharing her knowledge of art to future generations as much as she can and let them experience what art really is in their lives. She believes that every child is gifted and capable in some area. As an art teacher, she has to discover that gift and help students sharpen their skills, in addition to motivating them to become confident and successful people in the future.

Suleikha a/p Karthigesh
Ms Suleikha is a passionate teacher with 7 years of experience. She graduated from TIC college with a Diploma In Early Childhood Education. Ms Suleikha has taught Primary children at an International school for four years. Her passion for teaching and love for children led her to be a teacher. She believes education makes us view obstacles as challenges to overcome without fear, facing new things.

Tan Yee Tzen
Ms Tan has been teaching preschool for 15 years. She was a vice principal for a year and the organising chairperson for two yearly graduation concerts. In the past years, she also conducted educational trips for young children to gain knowledge outside the school environment. She graduated from OUM with (BA) Hons in Early Childhood Education and believes that children learn better through their daily experiences.

Tang Je Xen (Vincent)
Mr Vincent Tang studied at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, graduating with BA (Hons) in English Education. He taught First Language English, English as a Second Language and Environmental Studies. His particular educational interests are in the continual development of teaching strategies and methodologies to encourage learners to actively engage with the learning process, thus allowing them to enhance and enrich their learning experience.
He passionately believes in a growth-mindset and is eager to track and celebrate the success of his students in the upcoming years. In his spare time, Vincent enjoys going to the theatre, reading, football and takes any opportunity he can to travel in Asia and beyond, trying to fit in some scuba diving along the way.

Thivia Lakshmi a/p R Mathawan
Ms Thivia is our EY assistant teacher and the person in charge of our Early Years After School Programme. She is a warm and caring teacher who wants all children to be successful learners and works well with the class teacher to create a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of students. Ms Thivia has good experience teaching early childhood and looking after children aged 2 to 5 years old.

Wong Kok Ken (Kenny)
Mr. Kenny Wong is a Science teacher. He has 6 years of experience in teaching the national and international syllabus. He also has experience working at the hospital as a front liner. He attained a Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Biomedical Science from UTAR and a Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Science/Clinical Health Science from USM. He has experience in teaching Chemistry, Biology and Science. He believes that to acquire knowledge, one must study, but to acquire wisdom, one must observe. A person should share their knowledge to fully understand the application of it.

Dr. Wong Wah Yin
Dr. Wong graduated from the Southwest University (China) with a MA in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and a PhD in Chinese Linguistics and Philology at the same university. She has seven years teaching experience as a secondary teacher in private schools and has also taught Cambridge Chinese First Language and the HSK curriculum before joining SBIS. Ms Wong is committed to helping students become confident, responsible and independent learners. Her interest is travelling as she enjoys going to different places to gain experience and knowledge about different cultures..

Yeo Khai Hoong (Ryan)
Mr Yeo is a passionate Maths teacher who has 6 years of teaching experience in Cambridge Primary Checkpoint and UPSR curriculum. He is a Malaysian trained teacher who graduated from Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) with a Bachelor of Education Majoring in Chinese Language. Post that, he earned the recognition as an Apple Teacher. He believes that his enthusiasm for Mathematics is ardent enough to make him a good teacher for the subject.
He is a firm believer of "Your attitude determines your altitude."

Yong Kai Li
Ms Yong graduated from Nanyang Technological University, National Institute of Education, Singapore with a BA in Education, majoring in Chinese language and literature in 2013. She is currently pursuing her Master Degree in Chinese studies at UTAR. She has been teaching in a Singapore government primary school for 5 years before returning to Malaysia. Ms Yong has taken students to several countries for immersion and study tours too. She enjoys imparting values and delivering knowledge to students through teaching Mandarin as she has a strong passion for the Chinese language and culture. She likes to share her personal stories with students and hopes to inspire them in different ways.

Zulaikha binti Zulkifli
Ms Zulaikha is an all-rounder teacher who has 13 years of teaching experience from teaching primary to tertiary level. She also tutored working adults, mainly foreign Diplomats and staff before. She graduated from University of Malaya with BEd in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL); and MEd in English Education. She believes in finding determination to never give up, and never quit!
